Since the Snapdragon X Elite chip came out, Qualcomm has set its eyes on the PC market. With the help of the new Oryon cores’ power, this chip aims to compete with the popularity of x86 architecture. Let’s get into the specifics:
- Oryon Cores: Performance and Efficiency—The Snapdragon X Elite has 12 high-performance Oryon cores that were made using TSMC’s 4-nanometer process.
- These cores can go as fast as 3.8 GHz, and they can go as fast as 4.3 GHz with a single or dual-core boost.
- The cores are set up in three groups of four, which improves speed and cuts down on power use.
- Memory and Cache: The chip can handle up to 64GB of LPDDR5x RAM and has a memory speed of up to 136 GB/s.
- With a total cache of 42MB, it makes working and responding quickly possible.
- Best-in-Class Multi-Threaded Performance: Qualcomm says the Snapdragon X Elite has better multi-threaded CPU performance than other phones in its class.
- With only a third of the power use, it showed up to twice as much speed in Geekbench 6.1 as a competitor’s 10-core and 12-core laptop chips.
- It turned out that the competing chips were the Intel Core i7-1355U and Core i7-1360P.
- Compatibility with Games—The Snapdragon X Elite works perfectly with most games made for x86 Windows.
- As with Apple’s Rosetta 2 language layer, it doesn’t need to be transferred, which is a big deal.
