NVIDIA, the biggest company that makes graphics processing units (GPUs), has made new rules for Small Form Factor (SFF) game PCs. This is a big change. The goal of this project is to encourage game devices that are smaller and work better.
As a result of the SFF rules, Add-In Card (AIC) and chassis makers now have a standard for the sizes and gaps between hobbyist graphics cards and SFF chassis. Gamers should be able to use this program to find the best GeForce RTX GPU and other parts for their SFF build².
NVIDIA is working with its partners, such as AIC makers, chassis makers, and power supply unit (PSU) makers, to put together parts that are perfect for SFF builds². In particular, this is important because SFF builds are usually limited in more ways than regular builds².
The rules will be sent to NVIDIA’s partners so they can help gamers build small PCs². A big part of these rules is making a standard for AICs and chassis makers based on the sizes and gaps between enthusiast GPUs and SFF PC chassis.
There are a number of reasons why PC gamers like the SFF (Small Form Factor) section. Not only does it save room, but makers can put together some cool game systems that fit their needs². There isn’t a set list of rules for what hardware works best with what in the SFF PC market, but there is a lot of support for the section in the form of DIY parts.
Finally, NVIDIA’s addition of SFF rules is a big step toward making the game world more efficient and compact²²³. In the coming years, it will be interesting to see how this change affects the way gamers build their PCs.
