May 11, 2024: It is said that Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), a major global chip business, is changing the way its CPUs are named.

Information that got out from Asus says that AMD is changing the names of its processors to “Ryzen AI. These new names were seen in the specs for a new line of Asus Vivobook S 16 OLED laptops.
The Ryzen AI processors
The Asus leak showed the new AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 170 CPU. It is supposed to have 12 cores, 24 threads, 36MB of cache, and a top speed of 5.1 GHz. It says that the CPU has AMD Radeon graphics and that “AMD Ryzen AI” can handle up to 77 TOPS, which is a basic way of measuring how much AI working power it has².
The Effects on Tech Business
Lots of people who leak tech information online are already not happy with this new CPU name. But AMD Ryzen AI might be a better brand name than Intel Core Ultra because it tells you right away something about the CPU without sounding too good to be true.
