AMD has announced the release of its Ryzen 8000 series processors for both desktop and laptop computers. This is a big deal. The Ryzen 8000G Series desktop processors and the Ryzen PRO 8000 Series processors for business laptops and mobile workstations are part of this new series. It’s meant to give gamers, content creators, and regular users the best experiences possible by giving them amazing performance and the power of personal AI processing⁋.
Built on AMD’s “Zen 4” architecture, the Ryzen 8000G Series desktop processors are designed to be energy-efficient and use little power, but they don’t skimp on speed or responsiveness². In terms of specs, the AMD Ryzen 7 8700G is the best. It has eight cores, sixteen threads, 24MB of cache, and Radeon 780M graphics². On the other hand, the AMD Ryzen 5 8600G has Radeon 760M graphics², six cores, and 12 threads. It also has 22MB of cache.
Along with Ryzen AI², AMD is also adding the power of a specialized AI neural processing unit (NPU) to desktop PC processors for the first time. This feature is meant to give users access to more AI features and make them more productive, efficient, and able to work together more effectively².
Ryzen PRO 8000 Series CPUs for business computers and mobile workstations, on the other hand, have NPUs built in for AI tasks⁶. The NPU is powered by AMD’s built-in XNDA engine, which gives it 16 TOPS of performance². AMD can now say that its business CPUs for computers and desktops are the first ones to come with NPUs².
Furthermore, the release of the AMD Ryzen 8000 series CPUs is a major turning point in the tech world†. Going forward, it will be interesting to see how this change affects the future of computers and the way companies compete in the chip market.
